Bible Study

Why Good People Don’t Go To Heaven

  • We are not righteous or good, we have sinned. The best we can do is as filthy rags. (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, I John 1:8, Isaiah 64:6)
  • We can not work our way to Heaven (Ephesians 2:8,9)
  • This may run counter to our thinking or what we have been taught, it may not seem right to us but we should not trust in ourselves but God and the Bible (Proverbs 14:12, Proverbs 3:5)
  • We are all sinners (Romans 5:12) the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and there is a 2nd death beyond the physical death of the body (Revelation 21:8, Revelation 20:14)
  • Remember, not by our works (Titus 3:5) Jesus said if you want to work the works of God (John 6:28,29 ) then you are to believe on Him.
  • His commandment for today is to believe on Him (I John 3:23)
  • Jesus Christ is the only way (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, I Timothy 2:5)
  • Repent (2 Peter 3:9)
  • Believe and confess, call upon Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9,10, 13)
  • Only then do you become a son of God (John 1:12)
  • If you could have been good enough to merit Heaven then Jesus Christ was crucified in vain. (Galations 2:21)
