Is the Bible Written for Everyone? (2nd Installment) Is everything written in the Bible for me? The short Answer to this question is yes and no. This is not a contradiction nor a cop-out.

  • First  you must understand that the Bible is a spiritual book. Not ordinary. (Hebrews 4:12-13)  This book is alive and it judges.  It even takes on personal attributes, this is an extraordinary book.
  • Second you must understand the Applications of the Bible. How it is interpreted and understood.  Historical – What happened at the time, the events described. Doctrinal – Prophetical Present Truth Or Future Truth. Spiritual – Devotional, how the passage speaks to you . Life lessons to learn from passages not written directly to you. David and Goliath. A real event. Facing Giants in your life and how to overcome them. Ez 28 Talks to the king of Tyrus Vs11-17. 1 Corinthians 10:6 , 10:11 Romans 15:4  So in a Spiritual sense everything in the Bible is written for you. Example – Admonition (warnings) Learning. Now the Bible is also written in a manner of contrasts or one against another.  Saved    Lost //   Righteous    Wicked   //    New man     Old man  Those in the Spirit     Those in the Flesh But there is a division that is more critical    In reference to the whole Bible
  • There are 3 basic groups or breakdowns of people 1 Corinthians 10:32

I. Jews     Hebrews (Later called)     Judah    Israel This group of people was separated by God from all the other nations thus they are call his chosen peopleGenesis 12:1-3 Begins with Abram  later calle Abraham. All the families of the earth are blessed in Him. Genesis 18:18 All the nations of the earth are blessed in Him. This promise is passed on and confirmed by God to Isaac, Abraham’s son. Genesis 26:1-4 Again this promise is passed on to Isaac’s son Jacob also called Israel. Genesis 28:10-15 The Promised Land. A land flowing with milk and honey. The blessing that went alone with the land grant and the blessing of nations. Ge 27 cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.

II. Gentiles (NT)   Greeks – Romans 3:29, 1 Corinthians 1:23Anyone who is not a Jew is a Gentile. It must be remembered as we just covered, that individuals and nations are blessed in the nation of Israel. How we as a nation or an individual treats the Jews will determine how the Lord will treat us. I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curseth thee. Look at history Israel has had its struggles, but that is because of its relationship with God . When they rebelled against God    Going into Idolatry. And other such sins. God brought persecution upon them. Jud 2:11-15 This goes on throughout the nation of Israel’s history. When Neb came in took Judah captive and scattered them throughout the nations, this began what is called in the bible “the times of the Gentiles”. Hosea 3:4  Jesus came to this earth the first time, and the Jews rejected him as their Messiah.  In so doing prolonged the times of the Gentiles   and the Church age was ushered in. Luke 21:20-24, Romans 11:25, Amos 9:14-15

III. The Church Body of Christ Bride of Christ Some distinction needs to be made   between the Local church and the body. One is plural, other is singular, one is an organized institution the other a living Organism. The end of Local church apostasy the end of the body is the rapture, lost people in local church no lost in the body. Anyone who has trusted Jesus Christ as their Personal savior is automatically part of the church and part of the body Ephesians 1:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. Ephesians 5:21-33, 1 Corinthians 12:13. When a person trusts Jesus Christ they cease to be a Jew or a Gentile. They become part of the body of Christ which is the Church. Colossians 3:1-11

I have gone through all of this to show that though we may apply the bible to us spiritually.  Doctrinally and Prophetically the bible is written to specific people and groups which can not be applied to everyone.
