What Does It Mean To Be Saved?

Isaiah 57:15  For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Psalms 99:9  Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Habakkuk 1:13  Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

Job 34:10-12  Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.  For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways. Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

Psalms 145:17  The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

Deuteronomy 4:1  Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

Romans 7:12  Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:10-19  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Let’s make this a little more personal      Have you ever told a lie?

What does that make you?  Liar      Stolen anything?  Thief   Looked on a woman or a man to lust after them?  Adulterer         Ever taken God’s name in vain? Blasphemer

In fact: James 2:10  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Question?       If you can admit to being a liar  Thief   Adulterer  and a Blasphemer

If you were to stand before God right now would you be innocent or guilty?

Stop the podcast and think on this for a bit.       Because of God’s holiness

God expects absolute perfection    And you have already admitted to some sin

If that is the case you have a real problem      How can you have fellowship with a holy God

Isaiah 59:2  But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear

Remember

Habakkuk 1:13  Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity:…     Therefore sin and the sinner may not stand in the presence of God

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death;

What is mankind to do?     What are you going to do?

Nothing    God’s redemptive plan    Excludes man      It rests solely on Jesus Christ

Matthew 18:11  For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

If you are interested in how Jesus Christ can save you from you sin from hell, and the wrath of God, I invite you to continue to listen.

God’s salvation is a gift

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

There is only one way

1 Timothy 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Acts 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

The Lord demands a perfect life and a perfect sacrifice

2 Corinthians 5:21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Therefore any attempt by man to earn his own way is fruitless

Ephesians 2:8-9  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 3:28  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Any attempt to keep the law    10 Com.   For salvation Is not necessary

That is not part of God’s redemptive plan.

Salvation is through the Blood of Christ   Which pays for the penalty of our sin, and can establish a new relationship with the creator

Romans 5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Colossians 1:14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

To have Eternal life you must receive Christ as a gift

John 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

You receive Christ in your heart by faith

Romans 10:9-10  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Would you like to have your sins forgiven, and receive God’s gift of eternal life?

Are you willing to accept God’s terms?

The best way you know how      Confess you are a sinner    That Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross and his shed blood is the only payment for sin.

Then ask Jesus Christ to save you and give you eternal life.
