The Mystery of Iniquity Part 2

Who is the Antichrist?

2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Mysteries

1 1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

2 Col 1:27 Christ in you

3 Eph 5:32 Body of Christ

4 Rom 11:25 Temporary Rejection of Israel and it’s Restoration

5 Rev 17:5 Babylon the Great

6 I Cor 15:51 The Rapture

7 II Thess 2:7 The Antichrist

As the counterfeiter it stands to reason if:

God is manifest in the flesh – Satan will be manifest in the flesh

God’s ministers are required to be faithful stewards of the mysteries of God

1Co 4:1-2 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Do you think God put those mysteries there to stay a mystery? Then tell the minister to be a steward of the mysteries?

I believe they are mysteries because they are so deep that we will never completely understand them

But there are clues to give us some understanding.

I liken these mysteries to the child’s game clue Mr. Mustard with a rope in the Library

God doesn’t waste time or space in his word

God’s mysteries have clues to be found

by comparing scripture with scripture We can put those clues together

Then we can get and overall picture and even some details of this mystery

Remember we believe the Bible speaks literally unless it is absolutely impossible to do so

Who is the Antichrist?
and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Re 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

See vs 3 and 7 for the beast

Rev 13

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not, and shall ascend

He had a past He is not around now But he will show up again in the future

This should sound familiar Rev 1:8

Which is ( he is alive now) Which was (in the person of Jesus Christ 2k ago)
Which is to come ( His return for the 2nd Advent and ruling on the earth in the Mill)

2Th 2:1-4 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

He is described as the man of sin and the son of perdition

He exalts himself and declares that he is God Sitting in the temple of God on the mercy seat

That is the place where God would meet with the nation of Israel

Vs 8-10
2Th 2:8-10 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Let’s get a little closer

Joh 6:69-71 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. 70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? 71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

Notice he is not the Devil Not acting like a devil But is a devil

Joh 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

What is it about Judas Iscariot Judas is a Greek word But Iscariot is from the Hebrew Iscariot means man of Kerioth

Am 2:2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:

Jer 48:24-25 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near. 25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.

A broken arm:

Zec 11:15-17 And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd. 16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. 17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

Context Zec 11:12-13 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. 13 And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

Mt 27:3-10

Ac 1:16-20 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. 17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. 18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. 19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. 20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

Ps 69:25

Ps 109:6-9 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. 7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin. 8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office. 9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

Ac 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

Rev:9:1-11

You don’t have to know Greek to know this

1Ti 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Re 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

Joh 13:26-27 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

Lu 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

Why is it hard to grasp that Judas would come back again

Jews expected Elijah to come back

Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Mt 11:14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

Moses Rev 11 Jesus (Elijah Jer John the Bapt. That Prophet)

Remember the mystery of Godliness God manifest in the flesh

Remember the mystery of Iniquity Satan manifest in the flesh
