Limits. What Are God's Limits?

LIMITS 

Ex 20:1-20 

There are 4 institutions that God has set up in the scriptures, and this is the order we find them in scripture 

1) Family Ge 1:27-28 (KJV) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 

2) Civil Government Ge 9:6 (KJV) Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the 

image of God made he man. 

God has given authority to mankind to execute judgment against those who violate the person of another Mosaic law reinforce this as well as Rom 13

3) Israel 

Ge 12:1-3 (KJV) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 

And God has given them a land grant: Ge 15:18 (KJV) In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: 

4) Church Mt 16:18 (KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the 

gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 

I bring these institutions up because each of them are under attack 

To change to alter them To redefine them 

To pressure them to compromise within themselves to be different than who they really are. 

Each of these institutions, as established by God have built in limits to protect and to allow them to function in the world 

Limits boundaries rules God places these rules boundaries for protection and function 

whether you realize it or not, everything around us has limits 

Traffic signs Speed limit signs 

rules 

even the games we play kids making rules as they go Basketball baseball football all have boundaries and rules
 to prevent injury To prevent cheating To for fairness
 Sometimes rules are added because of loopholes. Steve Tasker Everyone understands this We have fences and walls around our 

houses or yards 

Why? To protect those within the yard Keep things out and keep thing in 

Everything around us has limits and boundaries
 Imagine what it would be like if your body didn’t have limits 

What is your skin? But a limit a boundary 

God designed it to keep things out and to keep things in 

Suppose that barrier was not there to keep things out? 

Dust Rain Rays of the Sun 

What about germs and bacteria Your skin is there by design for your protection 

Without this limit this boundary your could not exist You would die What happens when the skin is compromised punctured?
 Things on the inside come out Blood Body parts
 Your skin is there so the body can function within it’s environment 

What would happen if there were no vessel linings for you veins and arteries to keep the blood from defusing throughout the body, and supplying the oxygen for the body to function 

God designed a healing mechanism within the organ of the skin to heal itself to repair the breech in the boundary 

Now think of the institutions God has set up with their limits boundaries being destroyed 

God set up the family as marriage between an man and a woman a chain of authority 

; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee You do realize that that was not part of the original plan but a consequence of the sin of Eve 

Government has Laws to protect the people from each other and protect the people from the government itself 

Israel was given the Law the Commandments by with they were to worship God 

The Church was given the Gospel by with they could be saved and guidelines, rules, limits, by which to maintain fellowship with the Lord 

Col 3 

These boundaries were not intended to kill Freedom Expression or Liberty 

But to protect from the consequences of violating them 

Sin has consequences Society has always tested the limits stretched the boundaries 

Mankind has a rebellious nature and resists the notion they are prohibited from doing something 

Ill. Of Little girl at basketball Game One toe over the line 

Society wants to put a guilt trip on God fearing people, who hold to the bible and it’s standard of righteousness and it’s protections 

Society push the limits in the name of tolerance to satisfy their own selfish sinful pleasures 

To remove the public stigma for their action 

Illegitimate births back in the 50's and 60's was a public humiliation for the young girl and her family 

Now it is celebrated 

This all started at the very beginning 

Ge 2:16-17 (KJV) And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. 

They had one rule Limit to follow 

It was set up to protect them In the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die 

Adam and Eve tested the limit The result was catastrophic 

The curses were given among them were the fact that mankind is now dead spiritually And eventually dies 

physically
 the sin nature is passed on to all born of Adam 

Ro 5:12 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 

Therefore mankind has the need to be Born Again
 The lure was, ye shall be as gods knowing good and evil 

God is holding back on you God is limiting you you can be free to make your own choices you can be liberated from this bondage 

The Devil could care less about your supposed self-proclaimed rights he is interested in damning your soul to hell for eternity 

The Devil has been tempting man that God is restricting man’s freedom liberty 

Mankind has this desire for a free society without restraint without limits Without conscience Without consequence

The evil we see in the world is the result of mankind pushing the limits God has placed on them 

and you have lawlessness chaos anarchy Confusion 

Then Society has the nerve to blame God for his seeming lack of attention to man’s plight 

If God was a loving God He wouldn’t let this happen
 Murder Sickness Mutation and Deformity Starvation War Abuse Sexual Diseases Rebellion Hate Natural 

Disasters 

Man’s inhumanity to man 

Look at how explicit TV and Movies and video Games are 

All of this has a damning effect on society 

I don’t watch these things But there are certain evil in the world serial killers out there 

And what does the entertainment industry do // but produce shows and movies to give these ideas into the heads of others to preform such atrocities. 

How many of us have rebelled against the limits set up by our own parents Went against their wishes 

God into bad relationships Bad friendships which ended in disaster 

looking back on it How we have suffered Physically Emotionally 

because of it Wishing now that it had never happened 

heard a testimony of a young man rebelled against his parents 

12-14 hanging around boys 17, 18 yrs old Drinking drugs acts of violence 

Doesn’t know how he is alive today Saved young man now grace of God 

God gave us limits to protect us and so that we can function 

We need those limits 

Without limits There is Chaos Confusion No Function No Protection 

The Family is under attack and it is in dysfunction 

Government is under attack and it is going through the Great Re-Set 

Israel is under attack denying it’s sovereignty and it’s land grant 

Church is under attack and it is in apostasy 

The hope for any of these institutions and society as a whole is to submit to the Limits God has placed upon them 

They are there for their protection
 The Old preacher once said Back to the bible or back to the jungle
