HEAVEN: OUR eternal home

Introduction: I’m going to speak to you about Heaven for a little while today.

  1. There are plenty of things about Heaven that we haven’t figured out and we won’t figure out until we get there.
  2. So, you don’t have to agree with everything I might say about Heaven today.
  3. There is however, one thing everyone listening to my voice must agree on: Jesus Christ the Son of God is the only way to Heaven.

JOHN 14:6 – JESUS said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me.

Let’s look at Heaven:

  1. We believe the King James Bible is the word of God and is the final and absolute authority.
  2. As always, John 16:13 (KJV) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Okay, let’s get started by praying and asking God’s Spirit to guide us into all truth. Pray.

1. Let’s look at Revelation 4:1-3 and see Heaven is an orderly place.

Revelation 4:1-3 (KJV) After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

  • This is the Throne of the God –
  • This is the God who created the world.
  • This is the God who created mankind.
  • This is the God who so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son….
  • This is the God who commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
  • This is the God who was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up into glory….
  • This is the God who purchased us with his own blood.
  • This is the Throne of Government –
  • God sees all.
  • God controls all.
  • God governs all.
  • Heaven is an orderly place.
  • This is the Throne of Grace
  • God is gracious to forgive and help sinners.
  • The throne that all are invited to visit.
  • Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
  • Grace in this context is favor. God’s grace is His unmerited favor and underserved kindness.

2, Heaven is a place of many mansions. And there is a personal one for you.

John 14:2 (KJV)
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

  • God speaks in a language we can understand. Mansions are huge, glorious estates. Places of grandeur where rich people live.
  • You’ll have a mansion. I’ve got a mansion, just over the hilltop.
  • It is a place to live.
  • It is a great place to live. (no more rent, leaks, squeaks, or breakdowns. No more worries, bills, taxes, apartments, home problems)
  • It’s a personal place to live.
  • Our mansion is in God’s House, the presence of God.

3. Heaven is a place of perfect life. Life at its best.

  • We will dwell with God. Revelation 21:3 (KJV) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
  • No more tears.
  • No more death.
  • No more pain.
  • Former things are passed away.
  • Revelation 21:4 (KJV) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
  • No more sin. 2 Peter 3:13 (KJV) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

4. Heaven is a place of a glorified body. We’ll have glorified bodies.

  • Philippians 3:21 (KJV) Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
  • Never grow old.
  • Perfect health.
  • Perfect minds.
  • Perfect hearts.
  • Perfect desires.
  • Perfect thoughts.
  • Perfect feelings.

5. Heaven will be a sanctified place and safe place.

  • Revelation 20:10 (KJV) And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
  • Isaiah 11:9 (KJV) They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

6. Heaven will BE A place of a redeemed animal kingdom.

  • Isaiah 65:25 (KJV) The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

7. Heaven will be an immediate place.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

8. Heaven will be an eternal place.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord

Conclusion:  Heaven is offered to all men freely.

(John 3:16)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 11:26)  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

(Acts 10:43)  To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

(Romans 6:23)  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

(Revelation 22:17)  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Heaven is assured absolutely to God’s Children

And I give unto them Eternal Life….

Do you, have eternal life?  Repent and believe the gospel. Here’s how. http://www.bbfchurch.net/free-gift-17
